Been going to Yates for 14 years now with various vehicles from a 11 year old Honda Del Sol to a brand new BMW convertible. Have always been treated well and have found them to be honest and trustworthy. One time I took my car in to repair a window that would not roll down - they called me an hour later and told me my car was still under warranty so they referred me to the dealer, rather than charging me. After 5 years of road trips with dog in the back seat and recently to haul dusty and dirty items out of my dad's storage locker, my Subaru Forrester was a mess! So, took it in to be detailed and just picked it up early this morning. It is clean, really, really clean. Not a dog hair in sight! Will definitely keep on taking my cars there!

Yates Automotive is one of the best auto shops and in the area. Yes, they are slightly more expensive than some places, but you can't go wrong with these guys. Recently, my engine light kept coming on, and I took my beloved "Roadbeast" to several other locations, but they were unable to diagnose the problem. I took it to Yates, and within an hour, I had a solution to my automotive Jenga puzzle. I also learned of Yates' signature detailing procedure that looks very appealing. For $250, a full detailing outside and inside, plus a complete cleaning of the engine and engine well may be just what the Automotive Gods have ordered. I think the Roadbeast just might have to get a little makeover this Spring.

I called them at 4pm on a Sunday (an hour before closing) to see if they might be able to get my oil change. It really needed to be done that day. Even though it was bad timing for them, they said I could come in. They then tended to my car swiftly and with a smile. The customer service was wonderful, the service was very quick and the price was right ($50). I highly recommend Yates Automotive and will definitely be going back!!

Having to find a new mechanic after 25 years can be a daunting task.It was for me. I tried a few stations and was not at all satisfied with the quality of service.I was just driving by Yates one afternoon and decided to go in and talk to them.The manager on duty listened to the issues of the problematic AC and I decided to take a chance. The repairs were done and I will go back again when the car needs servicing.

I have nothing but good things to say about Yates' customer care. A few weeks ago, I had my Jeep towed to their location to get an estimate on work, and it turned out that the repairs were covered under warranty at the last place I had the truck repaired. I was on and off the phone with several different employees from Yates, including the owner, and they were very helpful - holding my car until it could get towed to the other location and walking me through the problems that they had located, with no charge to me. Today, I received a follow up call from John Yates, the owner, checking in to see that everything had worked out (something the other car place had not bothered to do!). 4 stars because I cannot speak to their repair work, but I will say that I will always bring my car here in the future -blown away by their customer care!

Honest and reliable. Always fixed on time. Also noticed a serious safety problem with the tires and advised me how to deal with it.

The Yates family is everywhere in Alexandria and for good reason, they do a great job. First of all, everyone in the shop is so nice and welcoming. Their customer service is excellent. The job they did on my car was superior, it looks brand new for a fair price. It's an automotive gem on the corner of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Braddock Road!
